Klondike Solitaire (also searched as Solitaire Klondike) is the classic patience game on this site. Use the Table of Contents to jump to Klondike 1 Card (draw one) or Klondike 3 Cards (draw three). Both share the same Solitaire layout: stock, waste, foundations, and a seven-column tableau.

Klondike 1 Card

Klondike 1 Card (also called Draw 1 / One Card) is classic Klondike Solitaire for one player — the standard how-to-play Solitaire experience many people know. You use a single 52-card deck. There is no multiplayer matchmaking — Play starts (or resumes) a solo deal immediately.

Play

Goal

In this Solitaire mode, build all four foundation piles from Ace to King, one suit each. You win when every foundation has 13 cards (the full deck).

Layout

Area	What it is
Stock	Face-down draw pile (label Draw). Tap to flip cards to the waste.
Waste	Face-up cards drawn from the stock. Only the top waste card may be moved.
Foundations (4)	Suit piles built Ace → King, same suit, ascending. Empty until an Ace is played.
Tableau (7 columns)	Main Solitaire play area. Column i is dealt i cards; only the top card of each column starts face-up.

Tableau rules

• Build down by alternating colors (red on black, black on red).
• You may move a legal face-up run (consecutive descending ranks, alternating colors) as a unit.
• An empty column accepts only a King, or a run that starts with a King.
• When you remove the last face-up card from a column and a face-down card is left, that card is flipped face-up.

Foundation rules

• Empty foundation: only an Ace.
• Non-empty: next card must be the same suit and exactly one rank higher.
• Only a single card may move onto a foundation at a time (the top of your selection).

Stock & waste (Draw 1)

• Each tap on the stock flips one card onto the waste (or fewer if the stock is short).
• Only the top waste card is playable.
• When the stock is empty and the waste still has cards, tap the empty stock to recycle the waste back into the stock (order preserved for classic Klondike Solitaire draw-1 play). Then draw again.

How to move (tap-to-move)

1. Tap a face-up card (tableau or waste top) to select a legal run from that card downward.
2. Tap a destination — another tableau column or a foundation.
3. The game places the longest legal suffix that can land there. If nothing is legal, the selection clears.

Drag is not required. Stock tap draws (or recycles when empty).

Controls & session

• Undo — reverses your last move(s) on this device (client history; cleared on a new deal).
• New Shuffle — requests a fresh Solitaire deal and clears undo history.
• Leave — ends the session immediately (no resume of that deal).
• There is no point scoring, daily challenge, or hint solver in this mode. The deal tracks moves / wins / losses for your session stats.

Klondike 3 Cards

Klondike 3 Cards (also called Draw 3 / Three Cards) is the same free Klondike Solitaire game with a different stock draw. Layout, foundations, and tableau rules match Klondike 1 Card — only how many cards flip from the stock changes.

Play

What is the same

• One 52-card deck; solo Solitaire / patience (no matchmaking).
• Seven tableau columns dealt the same way; build down alternating colors; empty column = King only.
• Four foundations Ace → King by suit.
• Win when all four foundations are complete (13 cards each).
• Tap-to-move, Undo, New Shuffle, and Leave behave the same way.

What is different (Draw 3)

Rule	Klondike 3 Cards
Stock draw	Each tap flips up to three cards from stock to waste (or fewer if the stock is short).
Waste display	Up to the last three waste cards may show in a fan.
Playable waste card	Still only the top waste card may be moved — deeper fan cards are not playable until they become top.
Recycle	When stock is empty, tap to recycle waste → stock (same recycle action as Draw 1; order handled consistently for Draw 3).
